Nov 16, 2015 10:58 PM in response to LarryHNby dachater,Once I have entered the location information and a red pin is placed on the map, how do I move this pin to a more precise location?

Nov 16, 2015 11:45 PM in response to dachaterby léonie,Grab the pin with the pointer in the info panel and hold it until it's lifts off the map. Then drag it to the location you want. You can use the + button to zoom in.
if you know the gps coordinates, you can type in the gps into the location field, first the latitude, then the longitude. Enter decimal fractions, not minutes and seconds.

Nov 17, 2015 4:49 PM in response to léonieby dachater,The problem is that sometimes the pin does not move. Where I have used my iPhone the pin will move OK, but when I manually add a location to photos from my Nikon DX40 (RAW files) the pin will not move no matter what I do. Any ideas why?

Nov 17, 2015 10:41 PM in response to dachaterby léonie,I cannot find Nikon DX 40 in the list of supported RAW formats https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205272. Does the camera also go by a different name? Perhaps Nikon D40X ?
If the raw formatted is not recognized as supported, it might explain why you cannot add locations.
The pin should move, if you hover the pointer over the head of the pin until the pointer turns into a hand. Then click and the pin will lift off and can be moved.
Also the pins will not move at all, if there is a warning panel open, while you are trying to move the pin. The warning panel might be hidden behind another window. Are any pages on the thumbnails, that might indicate a problem with your RAW files? Perhaps, that they need downloading from iCloud? Like in this screenshot?
Have you tried to remove threaded location from the Image menu?
Image > Location > revert to original location?
