Q: Macbook serial number missing from System Info. How can I add it?

I don't know why but the serial number of my white Macbook is not showing up in About This Mac or the System Information, It just says serial number not available,

How can I add it to the Mac's system please?

Yes it was changed, some time ago, but Apple obviously did not add the serial number back in then. Thank you

You can have the serial number installed at an Apple store genius bar. Make an appointment and I suspect it will be done for FREE.
