Q: Iphone 6 won't sync notes with outlook

I have an Iphone 6.0 running IOS 9.1.  I used to be able to sync my notes with Outlook.  But now when I look at Itunes it doesn't have the notes sync option.  I have it for contacts and calenders and they work fine.  Any idea what I might have happened.  Thanks.  Bob

    Hi rdpaterson,

I understand that you do not see an option to sync your notes to your iPhone. The one thing that comes to mind is if you upgraded the Notes app. If you can insert pictures or draw in it, then notes are not longer able to be synced with Outlook. Take a look at the information below for more details.

Upgrade your notes with iOS 9 and OS X El Capitan
    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204987

    • Upgraded notes don't support IMAP and won't connect to Microsoft Outlook. Go to iCloud.com on your Windows PC to view and edit your iCloud notes.

Let me know if that is the case and I can go over what can be done. If it isn't, then we can go over some other options to get it syncing again.

    Have a good day

    Norm,

Absolutely correct. Had I known that the Notes update would disable the sync I would not have updated it.  Is there a work around?

    Many thanks for your assistance.

    Hey rdpaterson,

The only way to see your notes on your computer is to sync those notes with iCloud and then you can view your notes on iCloud.com. Just sign in at Settings > iCloud and make sure Notes is turned on. You will need to copy the notes over to iCloud and the steps to do that are outlined below.

    Organize and share notes
    http://help.apple.com/iphone/9/#/ipha61270292

Move notes from one folder or account to another. Tap Edit in the upper-right corner of the notes list, select the notes you want to move, tap Move, then choose the folder or account. To move all your notes from one folder or account to another, tap Edit in the upper-right corner of the notes list, then tap Move All.

Let me know if you need further assistance on this.

    Take it easy

    Norm,

Many thanks for clearly this up.  I wish I had known the consequences of upgrading Notes.  i wouldn't have done it.  It was much more important that I could sync notes with Outlook that the enhanced Notes features. Using Icloud isn't of much value to me.  Thanks again.  Another mystery solved (at least for me).  Maybe a future IOS upgrade will let you take Notes back to plain text and then I can sync again.

I too need this feature added back, and find it much more helpful that having an iCloud Notes option......  Also, i purposely did NOT choose to upgrade to iCloud Notes when the iOS 9.2.1 upgrade process asked....but my Outlook Notes still won't sync.  So it wasn't possible apparently (?) to not be forcefully upgraded out of Outlook Notes sync.  Please help out here Apple.  Thank You.

there a app that will fix that, now at 39.00 us, i wonder, is the app designer a family member .....  such an easy thing and important thing to fix, Apple ignores it and that guy is probably getting very rich on the only one thing we use from is app .......i was expecting something impressive from my iphone 6, you can bet Androids are starting to look good to me.

    This problem is NOT resolved!

The problem still exists even without notes upgraded.

Additionally the link provided shows absolutely NO means to have your Outlook Notes copied to/from the iPhone!

    Ridiculous and phony

    Hi MillerNC,

I'm using software called Akruto for syncing calendar between PC and iPhone + Galaxy Tab, but it works with notes as well. It's like an exchange server for Outlook data, so will only let you sync new notes to your Outlook and would not transfer the old ones. If that works for you here's a link:
