Q: I run Aperture and Final Cut Pro X on MBA with the libraries on external usb hdd. Could I move these apps and libraries to a new Mac Mini?
Hello there. I'm running the latest versions of Aperture and FCPX I'm asking this question because I'm not sure about how the licences work for these products and Aperture is not being updated anymore. I don't see Aperture on the Mac App Store anymore. I wouldn't need to still run either Aperture or FCPX on the MBA, though it would be nice to have that option. I'd sacrifice that option if I had to, if it would mean that I could run them both and their libraries on the new Mac Mini. I'd continue to run Photos on my MBA in any scenario, and my Aperture library has already migrated to Photos and split off. It migrated automatically when I upgraded to El Capitan a few weeks ago. Thank you for your time! - Travis

IF you are running Aperture 3.6, it will run on a new Mac with El Capita, if you run the Setup Assistant when you set up the new Mac and let it copy the Applications from your current Mac or a Time Machine backup the old Mac.
APerture is no longer sold at the AppStore, but if it is showing in your Purchases history at the App Store, you can install it from there on the new Mac.
IS final Cut showing in the Purchases tab of the AppStore? Then install it from there.
I Migrated Final cut using the Setup assistant and it worked like Aperture on the new Mac.
