Q: Apple TV (4th generation) Crashing

Hello,

My brand new Apple TV (4th generation) is crashing. When it crashes I see a green colored bar across the top of the screen. This bar has random heights of approximately a 1/5th of the screen. The only solution is unplug the unit since the remote does not allow me to do anything in the menu because this green bar keeps coming up. It's not a cable issue since I swapped out a 3rd generation with this new one, and can swap back and NOT have these crashes on the 3rd generation. The firmware is current (there was a minor update upon installation).

Anyone else having these issues?

Since I purchased online, can I just take it to the local Apple Store and get an immediately replacement?

It may be an issue with your network or HDMI connection, are you able to try it with a different TV and /or in another location.

Network and cable is fine - reseated cords. The existing HDMI has worked perfectly with my 3rd Gen. Problem still randomly occurring resulting in rebooting (unplugging) in order to resolve. Here is a photo I captured of the green bar during a crash. As a very LONG time Apple user, I'm so NOT impressed that I have received a faulty Apple TV.

SO take it to an Apple Store and have them test it and if bad they replace it.
