iCloud update will not install on my Windows 10 Computer even by downloading and trying to install manually.

I keep getting the Apple alert window that an iCloud update is available but it will not install automatically from the Apple window and it will not install manually after downloading and trying to install that way. Do I need to uninstall iCloud for windows and start over? How do I insure that I don't lose contacts, etc if I do this?
