I wanted to delete an application from my mac. (I am running OS X 10.10.5) When I dragged it to the trash bin, the dialog box appeared with the message "Moving 2 items to Trash" but it is stuck in that mode. (see image below) I cannot shut down my computer, and I do not know how to eliminate the dialog box. Can someone give me some insight? Thanks.

What happens when your tried? Did you try restarting? Shutting down from the Apple menu or the shut down button on your comp? Error message? What did it state?

Force quit the Finder. Apple>Force Quit
That did the trick. I thought I had tried that before. Nonetheless, it worked this time. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
