25 GB .bt3 file in library that backups with Time Machine daily
Dear all,
Recently I discovered that around once a day Time Machine wants to backup around 25GB. It took me some time to figure out why this is the case since I did not do much with my Mac between two large backups. Using a tmutil compare command in Terminal I discovered that there is a file in my library of around 25GB which was changed since the last backup. Because of this change Time Machine wants to backup the file again and again.
The file is called genp.bt3 and can be found in the following location.
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/com.apple.sbd/A3004ECB-8AC4-4FBD-B88A-DE6673DCBD43/KeychainV0-tomb/genp .bt3
Can anyone help me with what this file is and why it is so big and changes so often? It takes up one fifth of my total hard drive space, so I will be glad if I can get rid of it.
Yours sincerely,
Inawt
