It sounds like you are unable to sync your phone to your computer because of error code 54. I would take a look at this article about that specific error code and this particular situation found here:

If your content doesn't sync
If your content doesn't sync after you click OK, try the following:
- Consolidate the files in your iTunes library.
- Check for any issues with third-party security software.
The error can't be fixed by reinstalling iTunes or restoring your device to its factory settings. Make sure to keep your iTunes and iOS devices up to date by running the latest software that your hardware supports. Get the latest version of iTunes on your Mac or PC and update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the latest iOS software.
