My phone won't connect via bluetooth to my car

I have a Ford Kuga with SYNC. Up until a week or so ago, my iPhone 6 (iOS 9.1) was working fine connecting to the car for handsfree, but now, it doesn't even see it.

My friend has tried with his Android phone and works fine still, so I'm 99% certain it's not the car.

I've tried the usual (hard reset, restoring a previous backup, turn off/turn on etc).

Anyone have any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem as bigc991 - same phone, same car. My wife has the iPnone X also and she cannot pair with the bluetooth on our Ford Kuga. I successfully paired my Android Hudl 2 and the Ford technician's Android Samsung mobile to the Kuga's bluetooth, so it is not a problem with the car. While I was trying to pair my iPhone 6s to the Ford Kuga, the iPhone 6s bluetooth picked up other people's devices and also this iPhone paired successfully with a bluetooth speaker. Exactly the same situation/problem with my wife's iPhone X. This problem arose after installing the IOS update previous to the latest IOS 11.2.1. The problem persists even after this latest update. It is strange that two different iPhones have exactly the same problem. We have have done everything (except a full reset to factory settings) with no success and we have read on other forums that people with this same problem have had no success with a full factory reset (which is a real pain to have to do). This problem arose after an IOS update and the fact that two different different models of iPhone have the same problem smacks strongly of faulty IOS software and Apple should address this problem in a future update, as soon as possible. It is frustrating in that these phones cost such a fortune and bluetooth won't work properly - not happy!

Hey,

Yes, I tried that. The list of things that I tried before posting is:

- Turn the phone off and on again

- Turn the bluetooth off and on again

- Hard Reset the phone

- Un-pair the device and try to re-pair it.

The problem is that the phone doesn't even see the ford sync on the car... when I do a search for devices (while the car is in discovery mode), nothing appears.

Do other Bluetooth devices show up on your phone, for example wireless keyboard or earphones? Can other computer or phones see the Bluetooth signal of the phone?

Before you set the phone back to factory settings, try to reset the network settings in Settings/General/Reset.

If resetting the network settings does not work, and to make sure that this is not software related, set it back to factory settings, without using any backup data afterwards. Set up the rest of the personal settings manually and test the Bluetooth connection.

If the Bluetooth works, restore from the latest backup. If the problem comes back, the backup data contained corrupt data, causing your issues.

If it still does not work, this is a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider:
