Im trying to mark up and highlight documents in microsoft word with apple pencil but i do not see the "ink" tab at the top. if anyone knows how to enable this feature or why it doesnt work please help me. Thank you
I do not think this feature is available yet from Microsoft. I called Microsoft and finally got a semi confession.
That would be a feature MicroSoft would have to enable in their app. It is nothing Apple has anything to do with.
I May be crazy but didn't Microsoft demonstrate ink and markup on an iPad pro during the keynote. They showed a guy using the apple pencil on a word document. Seems like. Bait and switch to me.
I don't use MS products on my Apple products, so I don't know for sure. It is supposed to be there as a feature - https://blogs.office.com/2015/09/09/office-updates-for-the-ipad-pro-ios-9-and-wa tchos-2/ but maybe the op needs to update word?
Yes they showed it off at the keynote and said it would be available along side the launch of the iPad pro. But apparently it wasn't ready and won't be released until an update in January 2016 is released.
Sare issue here. Not only are we not able to use the Pencil with MS Office but none of the Apple Apps that mirror MS Office work with the Pencil. I spoke to Apple Support today and the did state that there is a plan to incorporate the applications with the pencil but no date is set for either MS or Apple. So the pencil is not quite ready for the Work World as we though after watching the announcement weeks ago. To bad really as It really is in bad business practice to do a launch like this and have NO PLANS with a date to release the functionality sold and demonstrated live to the world.....
Just to let everyone know it seems like Microsoft updated the app finally to allow the apple pencil to work inside of its apps. I have been looking for an update but never saw one. That being said I just tried my apple pencil and as soon as I brought it to the screen I was able to write on documents. Hopefully that helps everyone.
