Q: iMessage and FaceTime not working after iOS 9.1 update
For my mother's iPad Air 2 (WiFi):
We recently updated the the iOS software on my mother's iPad from 9.0.1 to the latest 9.1; she was scheduled to go into the hospital from over one month, so using this was the best means of communication for my entire family.
However, she discovered that she was unable to use both iMessage and FaceTime for some unknown reason; this only occured after the iOS update.
She kept getting an error message saying that either iMessage or FaceTime were unavailable. She was able to log into iCloud, the App Store and iTunes using her the same username/password that she had tried with both iMessage and FaceTime, so that shouldn't be the issue.
After reading about similar problems faced by other users, she has tired every single reset method possible, but to no avail. I am really running out of ideas as far as how to help her use her device to communicate with us while she is away, but at this point it seems like an issue with the latest iOS that is causing the problem. Is there any fix in the foreseeable future or does my mother have a device in which two mainstay apps are useless to her?
Thank you in advance,
Jennifer
