Mac mini wifi

mac mini won't connect wirelessly with FIOS but does connect to FIOS through ethernet. It does connect wirelessly in the Apple store to a wireless hotspot. Software is OK because it also does not get wifi from FIOS in the recovery mode. All other devices in the home are able to connect wirelessly to the FIOS router. Any suggestions?

Mac mini, OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

What does diagnostics show?

Use Wireless Diagnostics to help you resolve Wi-Fi issues on your Mac - Apple Support

What exactly happens when you try to connect via wifi?

What model Mini?

What wifi bands and frequencies does the router support?

What security is the router using?

Is it using MAC address filtering?

Since it connects to the Apple store's wifi that would indicate a problem with your router.
