If you go on icloud.com, Apple censors your SN. Your best luck would be your carrier. Your original bill of purchase, or your contract given to you by your provider. OR EVEN BEHIND THE BOX that comes originally with the iPhone.

No, they probably don't. Carriers have the IMEI in their databases. The serial number is irrelevant to them.
