iMovie annoying green pictures when importing still photos

Hi everyone,

I'm using iMovie 10.1 and when I import normal *.jpg pictures, they become plain green and I can't edit them to the movie. I'm using a McBook Pro (early 2011) with OS X El Capitan 10.11.1. I've seen several threads in this forum, all of them suggesting different ways to import the photos. I've tried all of them and none seems to solve the problem. Is there any structural problem?

Any help is welcome.

Having same issue. Seemed to fix it when I exported photos to desktop and then drag directly into iMovie. But then later they became green again. iMovie 10.1 is totally unusable.

i also had issues with pictures turning green. an official support article was also released with 10.1.1 addressing the issues with still images... If still images are solid green or black in the iMovie Viewer - Apple Support
