How do I unlock/unfreeze my iphone 6 s plus?

Good Morning All,

I just got my new iPhone 6s plus yesterday. After backing up my old iphone 5s and plugging in my new iphone 6s plus, and hitting on recoving backup data as insturcted by the customer service officer who attended to me and my wife. Everything went on well. This morning, as I was going through its featurea and reading through the tips on how to best use my new iphone 6 s plus, it froze on tip 16. I tried eveyway I knew to get out of it but to no avail. I can lock the screen and but can't unlock it with my code. I can however unlock it with my thumbprint which I set up last night. But after unlocking it, it stays frozen on the first screen.

I can slide it, i can't even turn the iphone off. Could it be due to the new iOS version 9....i upgraded it to last night as well?

Has anyone encountered this, can anyone help or assist me in any way??? HELP !!!!
