Q: Oracle Secure Global Desktop Hangs on Safari

I have El Capitan (10.11.1) installed.

java -version shows:

java -version

java version "1.8.0_40"

Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.8.0_40-b27)

Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 25.40-b25, mixed mode)

I downloaded and installed java plugin for Safari

cat release

JAVA_VERSION="1.8.0_66"

OS_NAME="Darwin"

OS_VERSION="11.2"

OS_ARCH="x86_64"

/Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home/bin/java -version

java version "1.8.0_66"

Are they compatible? Should I change the JAVA_HOME? If so, to what?

/usr/libexec/java_home -V

Matching Java Virtual Machines (1):

    1.8.0_40, x86_64: "Java SE 8" /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.8.0_40.jdk/Contents/Home

shows only the one install. So why doesn't _66 show up? What am I missing here.

Bottom line, access to Oracle Secure Global Desktop just hangs trying to load...

Safari appears to be supported so I'm not sure if this is a Java issue or a browser issue.
