    Hello Brian..

thanks so much for your response in in setting up my iPad with iCloud.

I do have a problem thiugh.

. I backed up my old iPad on the cloud. I then set up my new IPad Air. Then clicked RESTORE FROM ICLOUD BACKUP.

THe issue is when I get to the CHOOSE BACK UP screen, it says NO BACKUPS AVAILABLE and to set up as new iPad or from iTunes backup.

can you please let me know why it isnt giving me the option to restore from iCloud even though I have backed it up on my iPad!

    thwnk u !

Do you know what iOS your old iPad was running and what iOS your new iPad is on?

You may want to initially set up the new iPad as a new device, then go to Settings>General>Software Update, update the new iPad to the current iOS.

Then go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Settings, and then set the new iPad up again and see if the iCloud backup will now show up as an option.

    TThank you

MY current iPad is iOS 9.1. I assume my new IPAD AIR is the same?

Does the new iPad need to be iOS 9.1 also?

IS that why it won't it wont give me to option to restore from backup cloud?

Yes, if the backup was made with a device running on iOS 9.1, the new device must be at that level as well.

YAY!!!! Glad you are all set now

For the old phone, if you mean can you go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content and Settings, yes you can. Just be sure to sign out of iCloud before you do that. You will be good to go!

If you are erasing it because you are thinking of reselling in, read this support article as well:

    HI there...

ok, so now when I try to SIGN OUT of iCloud on my iPad I get a box with DELETE ACCOUNT and its says "deleting this account will remove its data from your iPad"

Don't get that cause I'm trying to sign out, not delete the iCloud account. So, can u let me know about that.

thnks so much for ur assistance

You are trying to delete the account from your old iPad, correct? The one you want to erase? All that the "Delete" does (which in later iOS has been changed to Sign Out since the word "delete" is pretty scary), is sign out the iCloud account from that device, which results in all of the iCloud data that is currently being displayed on that device to be removed (since it is now no longer "attached" to an iCloud account).

The Delete/Sign Out process has zero affect on your actual iCloud account - just unlinks the device from the iCloud account so you can no longer see that iCloud account's info on that device.

OK so yes I'm trying to erase everything  off my old iPad.

OK, so after I 'sign out" icloud off the old device, then erase all contents can I go back to my new iPad and set up iCloud again? Will I be able to reinstall it so I can see see the account on the device?

    thank u...

BTW, I'm amazed how fabulous my new iPad is. So much nicer, lighter and hella lot faster than my old one!

Glad you love your new iPad!

So, your new iPad already is signed in to iCloud - you had to sign into it in order to back it up from iCloud, so you don't need to do any setting up at all on that device.

Deleting the iCloud account on the old device will have no effect on iCloud either at the iCloud site, nor on any device signed into that iCloud account. Again, by deleting, you are just "un-linking" that particular device from the iCloud account. Every other device or computer signed into the iCloud account remains unaffected.

Post back if you have further questions, or if I have misunderstood anything!
