Posting on behalf of a friend....My partner and I have the same apple ID but different phones which was fine until I upgraded the phone and now any texts I send are doubling up and only come to me if my partner replies. Any ideas??

How can I do this without losing content and the other person keeping the original apple ID?
Set up Family Sharing between the two Apple IDs once the new one is set up.
I spoke to apple yesterday and they were under the impression I would be unable to change the apple ID without having to change the other 1 as well given it was the main iTunes account hence my confusion?
No, you don't have to change both. Just set up a new one for one of the people.
