DBAN on MAC Pro

Hi all!

New to this forum and new to Mac (used to Unix and win)

I'm trying to nuke my drives with DBAN from USB.

The USB-flashdrive works fine on a PC and boot's correctly but it will NOT boot on my macs?

It's a Mac Pro 3.1 and the other one is a Mac Pro 4.1.

Any ideas what the issue might be?

thx

Do you have the 10.6 Installer/Utilities DVD?

If not, hold off on that complete erase for awhile. Maybe you should have a copy of that DVD, at least for your older Mac Pro. The newer Mac Pro 4,1 cannot boot from that DVD.

Otherwise, if you completely erase those drives the way you described, you will not be able to boot anything. It will take a trip to the Apple store to get them going again.
