iTunes Podcast Listing is Incorrect

Hi all!

This is weeks in the making. I didn't know about this site until just now!

Here's what I've been dying to figure out...

This is my iTunes podcast listing:

This is my RSS feed:

The iTunes listing first turned up broken back on Halloween Day, when my latest episode did appear, but - as can you see from all the episodes preceeding it - doesn't have the Episode # in front. That text IS in the RSS <title> field, however.

I posted another episode 2 weeks later, and it never appeared in iTunes. Other applications that read from the same RSS feed haven't had an issue showing new episodes correctly.

Finally, I posted a new episode last night. I was shocked to see today that it IS on my iTunes, but still formatted incorrectly, and the episode from last week is still missing.

I can't find anything wrong the RSS tags. I've had other people look too, including someone from Soundcloud support, and no one else has been able to see the problem.

Can anyone help me please? 🙂

I'm not seeing the episode number in the Kevin Kittridge episode title. This is your feed's code:

<title>Kevin Kittridge: Teleporting Prison Guard</title>

So iTunes displays it as you have it in your code:

The episode on SoundCloud doesn't have the episode # in front of it:

I recommend naming the episode in SoundCloud how you would like it to appear in iTunes.

In regards to Episode 7 - Neck Romance, yep, the RSS feed has the Episode #:

<title>Episode 7 - Neck Romance Her</title>

And iTunes displays it incorrectly:

I'd recommend getting in touch with the iTunes team if it doesn't update itself in a day: http://support.itunespodcasts.com/ . Perhaps you published the episode without the "Episode xx" in the title, iTunes indexed that title, then you added the "Episode xx" and iTunes hasn't updated the title?

...and the episode from last week is still missing.

Yes, I'm seeing this too- the iTunes Store is missing "Episode 8 - Ash Too Mouf..", published November 12, 2015 at 2:09 AM.

I would get in touch with the iTunes Podcast Support team, as this seems to be an issue beyond your feed: http://support.itunespodcasts.com/ .

Oh. My God.

How embarrassing about Episode 9. I can't believe I forgot the text!

But if you don't see anything wrong the other episodes, then yes, I will ask directly for help from the Apple support team.

Uh... either you, Podcast_Fan, are some kind of magical unicorn, or the Apple Deities are silently watching over this forum.

With the exception of my boneheaded Episode 9 mistake, the iTunes listing just fixed itself!
