Hey all - same issue. Got the Gen 4 Apple TV and replaced our Gen 3 tv with it and now we are getting the same "No Network Detected" message every 30 seconds. When I check my network settings our wireless network is there with IP address there and full signal strength. So what gives? This didn't happen with the gen 3 model. This Apple TV is sitting above the wireless router and we moved or gen three Apple TV into the bedroom which is further away from the wireless router and we still aren't getting that alert or issue in the gen 3. It's really annoying because it pops up on the screen while you are streaming tv and movies but doesn't actually stop the streaming because the internet is there and working. It does affect my music. The musc wont play. the moment the alert pops up the music stops.

that kills 50% of what I use Apple TV for. Please help.

Same issue here, working fine until the other day.

Keeps saying "No Internet Detected" but my internet works fine on computer and other devices.

I have done every step imaginable:

  • Restart
  • Restore
  • Update

Still nothing, same issue.

What version software are you running @petewaw? I think it may have been the latest update that keeps killing the internet connection.

I am trying to re-vert back to original software it came with. Keep you posted.

I am having the exact same issue. The Apple TV 4 is running fine so far but out of the blue the "No Network Detected" message pops up while the stream (iTunes movie or Netflix) still continues to play.

Oftentimes after switching the Apple TV on for the first time and then trying to watch an episode of a series it says something like "available in 1 hr 42 mins" or such. After a restart of the box I can watch the episode immediately.

The Apple TV is connected via WI-FI with a dedicated IP adress (settings in router and Apple TV applied). My DL speed is around 47 MBit/s, the network settings show 5 dots for the Wi-Fi connection quality, the router is about 3 meters away. The SSID is visible, MAC filter is active, Apple TV MAC address is in the "allowed" list. Router restarts and Apple TV reset both have been done.

I am asking myself if the issue occurs because the Apple TV is switching between the 2.4 and the 5 GHz connection, both of them have the same network ID which isn't an issue with my other Apple/network devices.

Is there a way to force the Apple TV to connect only to the 2.4 GHz connection without renaming one of the network IDs?

Ok, I have an up-to-date router with brand new firmware. I know that it has a list of supported WPA2 modes in a drop down menu. I am going to search if there is an option for AES only. Do you know if there is any word from Apple about CCMP which seems to be the most recent (and fast) standard?

Thanks for your help so far, I will report back if your suggested measures work. 🙂
