Is this AppleID/phone number message due to garbled memory?

A user of mine is getting the following notification:

Your Apple ID and phone number are now being used for iMessage and FaceTime on a new Mac.

If you recently signed into "smb://thewarehouse.aecom.yu.edu" you can ignore this notification.

thewarehouse.aecom.yu refers to a smb-based file server and I don't understand how it could possibly have anything to do with one's apple ID. Could it the message got its memory garbled and it's trying to refer to something entirely unrelated, like another Apple device?
