HTA equivalent in OSX?
I have been developing applications for PC for many many many years now. Until lately, no client has ever cared if they worked on a Mac or not so I have never bothered worrying about it. However, we have a client that now would like the product to operate on OSX or better.
The application itself is not a big issue ... it is a self-contained web/java/db application and it should run on Windows/Linux/Mac with no real issues so long as JAVA is available.
The solution I am looking for is more in the presentation of the application.
On Windows we run the web app as an HTA (HTML Application File) which allows any web page or web application to function within an OS shell rather than within a web browser. This gives the app the look and function of pretty much any other software app on windows, while availing to us the use of any web technologies.
My friend, who is an OSX user, does not think there is an HTA equivalent for OSX. I need to know if this is actually true or not before I commit to keeping the project as a self-contained web application for desktop use. I definitely DO NOT want the end-user running it in a formal web browser.
Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance.
