Using Time Capsule to extend wifi via wire
Hi,
I went through couple discussions but didn't find any answer to my problem.
I have at home a Linksys WRT610N router connected via wan port to the internet. Now I bought a new Time Capsule, which I wanted to use also to extend the wifi range. I know it is impossible to extend the non-apple wireless network wirelessly with Time Capsule, but I'm trying to extend it via wire - so here's what I did:
1. I connected the Time Capsule to my router. The wire runs from router's LAN port to the TC's WAN port.
2. The TC is set to extend a wireless network.
3. SSID, security mode and password are the same on both devices.
I can access the Time Capsule drive, but I also suspect, that the extension doesn't work. Also the Time Capsule is flashing amber and telling me, that the base station is set to connect to specific wireless network, which it is unable to find.
So my questions are:
Is it even possible to extend wireless network via wire using non-apple device as the primary station?
Is there any way how to tell whether the extender works?
What does it mean, tha the TC is unable to find that specific network?
How to set it all up correctly?
Thanks!
