The touch screen on my iphone isn't working

The touchscreen on my iphone 5c is isnt working. My phone is not cracked so nothing is interfering with the touchscreen .I was using it one mintue and then the phone froze so I locked it and then I was unable to use the touch screen, after that i tried to reboot or restart it by holding the lockscreen button or power button and the home button and still nothing. I tried doing it a few times and still nothing. I still get all my notfications and the time still changes and lock screen appears as it would normally but I am unable to touch anything . I really want my phone back , this is really annoying that this has happened. If you don't have any ideas of what to do I was thinking of just restarting the phone by clearing it and maybe that will work , if you can tell me how to do that withot unlocking the phone (because i cant unlock it the touchscreen doesnt work) that will help me .

Thanks

iPhone 5c

You can try the steps in this support document to start with. If the screen on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch doesn't respond to touch - Apple Support

Since a reset does not seem to help, then you can force the device to restore. Connect to iTunes, and use the steps in this support document to force the device into Recovery mode. If you do not have a current backup, you would lose content. If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
