Nov 22, 2015 7:59 AM in response to Philminnby joe_7399,Hi there Philminn,
It sounds like you are having trouble using CarPlay with your iPhone. I would suggest you use the troubleshooting in the following article about that:
Get help connecting your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with your car stereo
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203412
To use CarPlay, you need an iPhone 5 or later with iOS 7.1 or later. Some features (like turn-by-turn navigation) aren't available in all regions. Learn more about CarPlay.
- Check with the manufacturer to make sure that your car stereo works with CarPlay.
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > General > Siri and make sure that Siri is turned on.
- Restart your iPhone and your car. Depending on the car you have, you might see the CarPlay Home screen when you turn it on. If you don't, look for the CarPlay logo on your car’s display.
- Connect your iPhone to a different CarPlay USB port (if you have one).
- Try a different Lightning cable.
- Update your iPhone.
- Install any firmware updates for your CarPlay stereo.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Feb 24, 2016 4:13 PM in response to Philminnby S.L.O.,Did you get it to work?
I'm having a problem with Apple CarPlay. 2016 Civic EX-T. I almost always have Apple Maps displayed when I am driving. Sometimes when I put the right turn signal on the LaneWatch comes on the screen and then when the turn signal goes off, I just get a blank screen (I think there may be an error message). For some reason CarPlay gets disconnected and I can't get it back unless I unplug my iPhone 5C (iOS 9.2.1). I've also had this happen after pressing the climate button, which shows the A/C, Mode, and fan settings. After he climate screen switches off, I find my iPhone disconnected and the screen is blank. This does not happen all the time. It seems to happen when I don't know where I'm going and actually need driving directions!
One time I could not get it to come back at all. I tried unplugging the iPhone. Then I tried restarting my phone. Then I tried turning the car off then back on. The only thing that worked was to remove the car from the Apple CarPlay list (Settings -- General -- CarPlay) and then setting it up again.
I don't know if this is an Apple software issue or Honda. iOS 9.3 should be coming out soon...
