Help:Scan feature not available on Mac running on OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.1 for CM1312nfi MFP

Hello,

I need your help, guidance to resolve issue: Scan feature not available on Mac running on OS X El Capitan Version 10.11.1 for HP Color LaserJet CM1312nfi MFP (E468DE)

I have installed hpprinterdriver3.1 but still the scan feature does not appear when I select the printer from system preferences -> printers&scanners. Below is screenshot for reference.

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

I understand that you are able to print, but not scan on your HP Color LaserJet CM1312 MFP series printer. According to the following Apple article, this printer only supports printing, not scanning or faxing.

Printer and scanner software available for download for your Mac - Apple Support

I also looked on the HP website and do not see any Mac Operating System drivers available for this printer newer than OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion.

Drivers & Software for HP Color LaserJet CM1312 Multifunction Printer - HP Support Center.

However, I would still think it is a good idea to contact HP and ask about this situation and the possibility of available drivers. The link to contact HP Support is below.

I was able to tweak the code of HP CLJ CM1312 MFP series v1.5.0.dmg and make it work.
