Q: photos in the preview window not shown

Hi, I've a problem with my Canon G12 photos. They are not shown in the preview window (imovie version 10.1). They stay "black". All photos are jpegs and it seems to me as if this problem occur after installation of the fotos app...but I am not sure. Does anybody have an idea?

MacBook (13-inch Aluminum Late 2008), OS X El Capitan (10.11.1)

i had issues with black frames that were resolved with the 10.1.1 update. an official support article was also released with 10.1.1 addressing the issues with still images... If still images are solid green or black in the iMovie Viewer - Apple Support
