Nov 21, 2015 1:31 PM in response to MeRozhinby Loner T,Please check Install Windows 7 and earlier on your Mac using Boot Camp - Apple Support and verify what exact versions of W7 are supported on your specific Model Mac. Your 2010 Mac should have a built-in Optical drive. You will need a physical DVD in the internal Optical drive to install W7. You cannot use an external Optical drive or an external USB.

Nov 22, 2015 1:10 AM in response to Loner Tby MeRozhin,Dear Loner T
thank u so much for your guidance. my dvd supports all Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate(32 & 64 bit) kind of windows 7. And I don't want to buy another windows 7.
I want to try another method and I don't know wether it work or not. I tried to install windows 7 like xp. after partitioning hard drive and restarting mac book and presssing alt button I can see windows icon for installing windows 7. What's you opinion about this? Won't I face problems if I install windows 7 in this way?

Nov 22, 2015 7:12 AM in response to MeRozhinby Loner T,If you use Disk Utility to create a FAT partition for W7, it requires an additional step (create a matching MBR) before you can install W7 booting from the Windows DVD.

Nov 22, 2015 8:14 AM in response to MeRozhinby Loner T,Create the FAT partition using Disk Utility and post the output of the following commands?
diskutil list
diskutil cs list
sudo gpt -vv -r show /dev/disk0
sudo fdisk /dev/disk0
The "sudo" commands will prompt for your password, and it will not be echoed back. You may also see a warning about improper use of "sudo" and potential data loss due to "abuse" of the command.

Nov 22, 2015 2:02 PM in response to Loner Tby MeRozhin,Is it necessary? I couldn't understand the use of mbr! What happen if i don't use it?

Nov 22, 2015 5:11 PM in response to MeRozhinby Loner T,For W7 to be installed, there should be an MBR, otherwise W7 cannot be installed? It maps the internal disk to look like an MBR disk, so a BIOS/MBR OS like W7 can be installed.
