File jump after rename with El Capitan

Having an issue with file renames after upgrading to El Capitan. I used to be able to click the next file in sequence, and the current file being renamed would go off and do its thing to be re-ordered, and I'd be left on the next one I wanted to rename. El Capitan takes me down the page with the file no matter what I do; tried clicking next file in line, tabbing off of it, using the direction arrows after pressing enter. It's very inconvenient when trying to rename 100+ files at a time, and I have to scroll all the way back to the next one I want to rename.

Is there a way to fix this in the new OS? I've checked some of the rename apps, and they don't really seem suited for what I'm doing, they seem more for book-keeping and clerical duties.

Can someone from Apple please address this?

In the past if I was renaming a file/folder I could quickly click on the next filename/folder to rename it and the initial one would stay put and not move physically to alphabetical order as I initiated that second rename so quickly. Now like this person posts if I do this my cursor jumps back to the initially renamed file in its new physical location on the screen instead of allowing me to rename the second folder/file. I realize the renamed file/folder will move but I don't think the cursor should change locations as that first file is moving. Is this a glitch/bug??

I'd like to add that the "previous normal" behavior of the cursor is preserved if one tries to rename a file while in a Search Window.

So a temporary work around is to conduct a search in the folder you are working in that will show all the files then make the filename changes one by one. Awkward and an extra step but until Apple fixes the bug (if it is one) it is the only way to change a lot of filenames without the cursor jumping with the renamed file.

I am experiencing the same issue. So frustrating. I am constantly renaming files and folders throughout the day for my job. I recently upgraded to El Capitan (OS X 10.11.3) from Mavericks (OS X 10.9.5) and found the new finder makes this task much harder when naming several files/folders in the same folder.

The way it used to be was I could select the file to be named, name it, then select the next file and name it. However, in El Capitan, when I try this the same file I just renamed becomes selected again and I then have to again select the next file. This adds extra steps and makes the simple task of renaming a series of files/folders more time consuming than it already is. This drastically reduces the efficiency of my workflow.

I submitted feedback to Apple regarding this issue and asked that the function of renaming files/folders be fixed to operate the way it used to.

You can submit the same issue to hopefully get their attention here...
