Nov 21, 2015 12:26 PM in response to Sherrypoppinsby Protodd,- Go to Settings > Remotes and Devices > Bluetooth, then select your remote. Make sure that your remote is charged and connected.
- Restart your Apple TV.
- Pair your remote again. Put your Siri Remote within three inches of your Apple TV, and point it at the front of your Apple TV. Then press and hold the Menu and Volume Up buttons for five seconds.

Dec 24, 2015 10:06 PM in response to Protoddby ericyoshino,Got the same problem here.
My ATV boots up goes directly to a screen with this chinese words that I would guess is a select language menu, but the remote is unresponsive.
Protodd solution won't work at all since the remote itself is not working.
