trying to download the new update OSX EL Capitan and its taking forever.

Struggling to download the new update OSX El Capitan, its taking for ever, computer is saying 1-2 days. My internet is fine. I have a Mac Book Air .

Pause the download and then resume it.

This can happen if you're on a saturated CDN download node or there is some sort of communication issue with your connection. Often a pause/resume as stated will help or you can reboot or try again in 30min and you'll usually have no issues with the download. This happens all the time when Apple releases major OS updates and all the enthusiast users clamour to download the new version at the same time 😉
