Compatibility

Hi,so I have an iPod touch 4th gen,and there are some amazing apps and games out there for example" Dubsmash Application" this app runs in iOS 7 or more

I really want to download the app but my iPod touch is running iOS 6.1.6

So here's my question can I update my iPod youch 4th generatin from iOS 6 to 7 or even 8??
