Changed iCloud password, Facetime not working

I changed my iCloud password a few days ago and today I opened Facetime. it made me log in again but now it won't let me call anyone or receive calls - it keeps saying "Call Failed".


I'm using a 2012 Macbook Pro, on 10.11.1 El Capitan

If you change the password to your Apple ID, there are a number of places you need to update that information. This article has a good list - What to do after you change your Apple ID email address or password.


Specifically -

FaceTime

Update your Apple ID or password on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac.

...

Mac with OS X Mountain Lion or later

  1. Open the FaceTime app.
  2. Select FaceTime > Preferences.
    • If you're signed out, enter your updated Apple ID or password.
    • If you're signed in with your previous Apple ID, select your Apple ID, click Sign Out. Then click Sign Out again when asked to confirm, and enter your updated Apple ID or password.
