itunes crashes
every time a sample a song in the itunes store an error message comes up that says the program is unresponsive and gives me no option but to close itunes. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

If I understand correctly, iTunes becomes unresponsive and you have to close it to get it to work again. I would recommend you read this article, it may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.
