Nope' the Apple TV (i.e. Siri) remotes will not work either, because they also use IR technology.

Nov 22, 2015 8:59 AM in response to stefan dtby Mike Sombrio,The new Macs no longer have an IR receiver. You can get an app that allows your iPhone to work as a remote for your iMac using your wireless network.
