Why does apple still produce models with 128 gb ssd drives?

And why I can not choose larger ssd size when orderin Macbook or Macbook air?

Really this is so stupid to have drive less than 500GB in 2015

You aren't asking Apple here, and we can't guess Apple's policy.

http://www.apple.com/feedback allows you to give feedback of unsolicited ideas to Apple directly.

Note: http://www.apple.com/macbook/specs/ shows that the MacBook has 256 GB and 512 GB PCIe SSDs.

128 GB and 256 GB is available on the Air:

https://www.apple.com/macbook-air/specs.html

https://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs/

shows the 13" model of the Pro has optional SSDs of 128 GB to 512 GB, and a standard hard drive of 1 TB.

The Retina 13" model can go the same way, and the 15" model has 256 GB or 512 GB:

There is not a single model that only has 128 GB available. If you find there is an Apple Authorized place that only offers the 128 GB of any of these models, please call AppleCare and inform them the dealer in question is limited in its stock:

The question is, why do they even make such low capacity devices? Who needs 128 gb nowadays? Laptop equipped with 256 is more or less usable, but still is just a little bit better than modern phone.

What is the logic behind these choices? They produce 1500$+ devices and they put poor 128gb hdd in it. What for? To make it cheaper? This completely breaks Apple motto by Steve "We can't ship junk"
