I purchased facetime from the playstore for my mac book. I don't know where to open it or how to use it. Please help.

I'm not very computer savvy but my family is in NC and say that facetime is better than skype.
FaceTime is not a purchase from the 'play' store, it is free and is part of a Mac. What did you buy?
Choose Applications from the Finder's Go menu and double-click it.

The Playstore is Google's store for Android Devices. It has nothing to do with Macs, and nothing form it can run on a Mac.
If you Purchased Facetime from there it is for an Android Device.
Facetime for Mac is free, and built in to Mac OSx.
Perhaps if you explain exactly what it is you did, we can help you.
