Is Movie Box safe and legal?

A friend told me about this site where you download an app called Movie Box on your iPad and you can stream movies. Is this safe for my iPad? Is it legal? I don't want to do anything illegal or unsafe for my iPad.

And your point is...? If anything, an app that was approved for the App Store and then was revoked would make me even less likely to trust it. What issue caused it to be removed? There are millions of apps in the App Store that manage to meet Apple's conditions for distribution, so why can't this one do so?

I for one do not necessarily believe that any such app is safe to use, as the very method of installation and its requirement for blind trust of the source opens up the possibility of also installing malicious software. Note that every reported exploit for iOS has involved people consciously (but without any basis for trusting the source they click on) granting access to their devices by some URL or web site or anonymous code string.

Note how the installation "instructions" say to simply tap "trust" every time you're prompted during the install? If that doesn't set off flaming red warning rockets in your mind, then go ahead. But I'm with Johnathan on that front - do NOT trust any apps claming to be installable outside of Apple's App Store. If they were legitimate and trustworthy, then why are they not in the app store in the first place?
