Q: Ratings and playlists have vanished

Hi folks. A few months back, my spouse signed us up for Apple Music and initiated a transfer of my library to Cloud. This messed up my library (grr, flashback to the Apple Match nightmare), so I restored my 10K+ track library using Time Machine, as suggested in this thread <WARNING: iCloud Music Library just destroyed my Mac's iTunes Library>.

The library was restored, but I've lost all of my ratings and playlists. (Comments and artwork remained intact.)

Any idea on how to resurrect my ratings and playlists would be much appreciated. I'm using iTunes 12.3.1.23. I have a Time Machine backup of the library from the day before all this snafu occurred.

Many thanks.

    Hello memphrem,

After reviewing your post, It sounds like you restored your music but the ratings and playlist are missing. I would recommend you read this article, it may be able to help troubleshoot the issue.

About iTunes library files - Apple Support

The iTunes Library.itl file is a database of the songs in your library and the playlists that you've created.

Your playlists, song ratings, comments, or other information is lost. The iTunes Library.itl file is used only by iTunes, and is the only one backed up by Time Machine on OS X.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Have a nice day.
