Unable to post podcast. "Cover art must be between 1400x1400 and 3000x3000 pixels, JPG, or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests.

Hi,

I have tested my podcast feed using iTunes File/Subscribe to Podcast menu. The podcast shows up there fine and plays as well. But when I try to submit it, I get the following error message:

"Cover art must be between 1400x1400 and 3000x3000 pixels, JPG, or PNG, in RGB color space, and hosted on a server that allows HTTP head requests."

What is the real problem? Is it really the cover art since it plays okay? Which cover art is it referring to?

The two feeds look to be the same. The URL in your 'itunes:image' tag is

http://www.jakefeinbergshow.com/?p=6863

This redirects to http://www.jakefeinbergshow.com/?attachment_id=6863 which is a web page. You need to provide a direct link to the file, which should include the extension (.jpg or .png). The file must be in the dimensions you quoted above, and also must be less than 500kB.

Hi I've the same problem, and I've read all your posts but I couldn't find/see what you are talking about and I still have issues with cover art and 99% sure that I uploaded 1400x1400. Here is my feed:

The URL in your 'itunes:image' tag is

http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah47/antiwara/12311279_1067250979975257_4085 943466334992167_n_zpsoxunsmwe.jpg

This redirects to

http://s1377.photobucket.com/user/antiwara/media/Untitled-3_zpsvxr1e8jn.png.html

which is a Photobucket web page. It states that the image has been moved or deleted. Photobucket URLs normally lead to a web page displaying the image, and this won't work. You must provide a direct link to the image. If you get the web page once you correct the URL you should use the 'Direct' link in the right sidebar. Check your image URL in a browser before putting it in the feed and submitting that.

Thanks for your answer, but if it is deleted how come I can see my image? I mean when you enter the RSS you can see my photo, right? Which photo service is better for this matter?

The URL in the 'image' tag is http://i1377.photobucket.com/albums/ah47/antiwara/Untitled-3_zpsvxr1e8jn.png - however iTunes does not read this tag. The URL in the relevant tag, 'itunes:image' is as I described.

The image linked to above won't be accepted in iTunes even if you place its URL in the 'itunes:image' tag. It's 1024 x 1024px - the minimum is 1400 x 1400px, and the file size is 2MB: it must be less than 500kB.
