How to disable popup dictionary in iBooks?

Hi,

I'm on a macbook pro on El Capitan 10.11.1.

I am trying to read a book in iBooks. I often use the double tap gesture to highlight portions of the text to make it easier to follow where I am at.

In any other context, double tapping will highlight a word, but in iBooks it opens a dictionary popup, that I don't care about, however it covers the text that I'm reading. It is extremely annoying.

Is there any way to disable dictionary popups when highlighting a word in iBooks? Removing dictionary completely? Using something instead of iBooks that doesn't have this behavior? Anything to get rid of this?

Thanks.
