In the Mail preferences window, please select the Accounts tab, then select one of the accounts from which messages are missing. Under Account Information, uncheck the box marked
Enable this account
then check it again. Quit and relaunch Mail. If the missing messages now appear, repeat the procedure with any other affected accounts.
This didn't work. I had saved emails in folders I had created but none of these emails have been restored. There are a lot of receipts in those emails which I need to have.
Are these folders on a mail server? If so, can you sign in to the server in a web browser and see the messages?
Yes they are all on the original servers thank goodness! Many thanks. 🙂
The current version of Mail may not be able to handle subfolders of mailboxes on an IMAP or Exchange server. If you've created such subfolders, I suggest you sign in to the account in a web browser, move the messages out of the subfolders, and then delete the subfolders. Use smart mailboxes to organize your mail.
