Dos attacks from my iphone make my router disconnected

Thank you for reading. I appreciate all your time. I have iphone 6 plus
which makes my router/ home wifi disconnected every 10-15 minutes of usage.
Looking at router's attached devices, I innitially find my iphone having normal
ip as all other devices (192.168.0.xx) but iphone's IP changes shortly after
that to another strange IP 129.147.... (from OH). All other devices do not
change IP addresses though.

My router log also showes a lot of [DoS attack]: flooding, ping of
death,...from the above IP of my iphone.

I did try restore, update, factory reset my iphone but I still have the
problem. It is very weird.

I actually need some help right now. Thank you very much and appreciate your
time.

Best,

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.1

This has been happening to me, too, for months now. I just realized that it's my iPhone, also, which wasn't obvious because it picks up a strange address. I tracked it to the MAC address on my iPhone 6S. I've tried all of the following to resolve it with no avail:

  • Giving the iPhone a static reservation on my Netgear C3000-100NAS
  • Searched for (but didnt find) newer firmware for my V2.02.08 Netgear C3000-100NAS
  • Factory reset iPhone

The ONLY solution that worked was to never connect this iPhone to my Netgear. That *****. I would rather have a refund for my Netgear, but it took too long to discover.

Any solution found by anyone that took their phone or Netgear in for service?

I work around this issue by checking my Netgear log of connected devices as soon as I connect my iPhone. If I see that it gets the local 192.168.0.x address that I assigned, I allow it to stay connected. If I see that it gets a WAN address, I know something's up and I turn off wifi and turn it on again.

How is this happening and how can I get it to stop?

Yeah I am also having the same problem. I took my Netgear router back and exchanged it for the same C7000.

That did not resolve the issue with the DOS Attacks. I wiped all three of my IPhones, I also added one of my friends

IPhone to my network. Her IPhone started to send out DOS Attacks also. Its only happening on the IPhones. Not

on my IPads, Mac or PC's. Wonder if I just buy another Router that is not a Netgear router would this problem go away? If anyone change there brand of router let me know if that resolved there issue.

I am having the same issue to. But I have a work around due to the ISP can not resolve the issue. I am running my IPhone's through Charles Proxy. I black list some of the strange stuff I was seeing come in on the proxy server. My devices IP don't change as long as I am connected to the proxy server. No DOS Attacks. But every now an then you

have to restart the proxy server. But you have to block the wifi connection to your IPhone's before you restart the proxy server.
