Changing proportions of a shape
Hi. I need to 'skew' or change proportions of a shape. My version of Pages (4.1) won't let me use 'make editable'. Any ideas? Thanks.

What version of OS X are you using Pages '09 v4.1 on? Was this version of Pages originally installed from a retail iWork '09 DVD?
In Pages '09 v4.3, once the shape is selected, all of the Format : Shape menu items are active.
Hi and thanks.
My OS is 10.6.8. The Pages came with the laptop when I bought it. A lot of the options don't appear to work!

Version 4.1 is the latest Pages '09 release for OS X 10.6.8.
I just fired up this version of OS X, and launched Pages '09 v4.1. When I inserted a rectangular shape, and while it was selected, I noticed that all sub-menu items on the Format menu : Shape menu were active, and the red edit grips were on the shape.
Are you sure that what you are trying to change shape is actually a Shape?
Or isn't Locked?
Or isn't a Master Object?
Or isn't a Textbox?
Peter
I'm wondering if it's because I'm using a pasted shape from elsewhere, so not a shape from Pages. Please see my reply to Peter.
And thanks!
Annie
Thanks, Peter
Ah, well what IS a shape? I downloaded a piece of free clipart (a picket fence), duplicated it and joined it together using Graphic Converter. I then wanted to give it some perspective (hence wanting to 'skew'). I couldn't do it with that piece of software, but thought I ought to be able to do with Pages. Obviously over ambitious!
I would be happy to invest in new software just to solve this, as it will be useful for other things, but don't know which ones would do it.
Thanks again
Annie
