Replaced Trackpad Not Working

A few months ago after wiping down my Trackpad it started acting crazy, then became unresponsive except for random jumps across the screen.

I ended up using a mouse until recently when I ordered a replacement trackpad but after getting it put into my computer it doesn't work at all. Doesn't click nor does the mouse move. After contacting the seller to double check I got the right trackpad for my computer I returned it and got another one hoping it was defective. I just installed the replacement and same deal, it's like there is nothing there.

I double and triple checked my settings and everything seems to be set right. I restarted the computer multiple times, once in safe mode, my battery is fine (replaced about year ago after it ballooned).

I'm kinda at a loss of what to do, is there another component to the trackpad that doesn't get replaced when you get a new trackpad that could be messing it up?

Thank you!

Hi. I had that problem once and found that in changing the track pad I did not get the ribbon cable seated right. Had to go back in and redo it.Also if you have the original ribbon cable and reseating doesn't work try that cable. You could also repair permissions, long shot but worth a try. Do you have any bluetooth devises running? If so try turning off bluetooth.
