Nov 24, 2015 12:55 AM in response to Winston Churchillby logimac,Winston,
Thanks for the response. Perhaps I did not explain my question very well. I regularly got messages on my iPhone that there was not enough room to store, a photo. I then purchased 20gb additional cloud storage for which I pay 0.79/month! I did the same for my wife. Recently, on receiving similar messages and examining storage available, I find the iPhone storage used is in excess of 11.7gb with around 660mb available, yet in iCloud I find that I now have 42.1gb available!
i know that perhaps at 67 years old, I am too stupid to operate an iPhone, but am astute enough to realise that there is no point paying for something I cannot use. So, it doesn't matter what files or photos I want to store in the iCloud, only that it reduces my storage problems on the handset. Does anyone know how to automatically store my data in the iCloud?
Thanks again

I have told you how to save space on the phone by using iCloud for photos and there may be other things you can do to help your situation, we would know better if you would answer the questions asked of you. However for the time being if you use optimisation for Photos, you can cut the space that your photos use up by 90% or more.

Nov 24, 2015 3:31 AM in response to Winston Churchillby logimac,THank you again, I am already fully optimised as far as photos & camera are concerned. The files I speak of are spreadsheets and other documents, but I suppose since they are held in Sheets or Drive, their storage is already covered. So, to go back to my original question (or at least what I thought my question was) how do I store anything on the cloud and not on my phone?

Nov 24, 2015 3:54 AM in response to logimacby Winston Churchill,In the case of a numbers spreadsheet, move it out of the numbers folder and into another folder, this will remove it from your phone and won't be download until you want to download it again.

Nov 24, 2015 4:18 AM in response to Winston Churchillby logimac,Thank you yet again. Not sure how to do that but I'm sure I'll find out. So, how do I move anything into the Cloud and reduce the storage pressure on my iPhone?

Nov 24, 2015 4:21 AM in response to logimacby Winston Churchill,You can do that in the Finder on your Mac or at iCloud.com > iCloud Drive if you don't have a Mac.
