can you crate single frame photo from imported video using iMovie

can you create single frame photo from imported video using iMovie, want to get some decent stills from video of kids in dance show to be produced/enlarged as colour photos, think I have done the single frame previously using windows pc but new to Mac so don't have a clue, if need additional apple software please advise, cheers

Yes (in recent versions of iMovie 10 that is). Put video into a project. Move playhead to desired frame. Select File > Share and choose image from the menu. Full details in help files is at:
