OSX RAID volume no permission to view contents

I have a two disk RAID set up in an OWC Thunderbolt 4 bay drive. The other two disks (not in a RAID, are accessible. The RIAD volume gives me the classic The folder cannot be opened because you don't have permission to view its contents.


I tried the other admin user on the machine, no luck.

I am reluctant to venture any further (with DiskWarrior for example) until I figure out if I can repair this somehow. I am pretty much at the limit of my knowledge here. I cannot think of an event which might have provoked this problem.

Well, I finally managed to get to Get Info on the drive and the permissions were all Custom, and I wish I knew why. At any rate, I changed them back to the appropriate settings and we're back in business.
